Synchrony Doula Care
Hi! I’m Rachel (she/her)
About Me
I am a daughter, sister, friend, partner, and mother. I have two children and am blessed with a loving, supportive wife who has been such an incredible partner in life and as I launch this endeavor. I was born and raised here in Oregon, and attended the University of Oregon, where I majored in Spanish and Human Services. After finishing my undergraduate studies, I moved to Brooklyn, New York to become an elementary school teacher.
My career in education has taken many forms. I've been an early childhood teacher, connecting with little ones during their foundational years of discovery. As a full-cycle recruiter for school systems, I supported educators, school leaders, and executives as they transitioned into new roles and communities. Most recently, I served as head of talent for a network of high-performing charter schools in New York City, where I had the opportunity to guide educational leaders through complex professional transitions while building systems that supported both individual and organizational growth. I currently split my time between school systems-based consulting work and doula work.
I believe that my interdisciplinary and cross-industry experience demonstrates my lifelong commitment to understanding how people learn, grow, and thrive during times of change.
My Job as a Doula
My job is to nurture, educate, and connect you with resources and professionals precisely when you need them as your family brings new life into this world. I provide both birth and postpartum care through packages designed to be flexible and responsive to your family's evolving needs.
I have worn many hats in my life and continue to do so—an experience that has shaped me into a compassionate, intentional, informed, and strategic caregiver. Whether this is your first birth, your fifth, or somewhere in between, I am confident in my ability to move in harmony with you and your family as you identify and address your practical, emotional, informational, and physical needs during this transformative time.
I’m excited to walk, sway, and sit alongside you in birth and postpartum, creating an environment that moves at your pace as you process information and make key decisions about your care, your baby, and your transition home.
